Art Start
In November, Art Start students focused on drawing people from observation.  Before each lesson, they warmed
up with a contour line drawing, during which they are not allowed to lift the pencil from the paper.  Contour
drawings train us to look closely at an object and notice things we normally don't.   These exercises produce
results that are highly individual and, in my opinion, fascinating!
After warming up, students were ready to draw people.  They loved posing for each other, either in dress up clothes,
holding props, or simply sitting.  Other students would draw, then they would switch.  We did this several times, then
for the last class, they chose their favorite drawing to color with colored pencils.
