Vincent van Gogh Paintings- Acrylic on Canvas Board

Art Start November 2015

Vincent van Gogh's life was fascinating and ended too soon. Luckily his art lives on for us to enjoy in all of its beauty, with its energetic brush strokes, vibrant colors and powerful forms. Art Start students chose a van Gogh painting to copy using acrylic paint on canvas. They sketched with pencil first, then painted the background and built the image forward from there. Acrylic paint mixes and layers well. It is opaque, permanent, and dries quickly.  Scroll down to see the individual paintings. Bravo, artists! Van Gogh would have been proud.
